Serge’s Tree

“One day, in the splendid park designed by the Romantic writer Chateaubriand, I read on a sign that the tree in front of me was a Gingko, given by Goethe as a sign of friendship. I photograph it. Shortly afterwards, an artist-contractor commissioned a Gingko for his offices. What a coincidence!” I say, and show him the picture. He exclaims, “But… that’s not a Gingko!”

When my friend Serge saw it, he liked it immediately… It’s been Serge’s tree ever since.”
